Workplace Health an Safety Legislation Update

To update the Workplace Health and Safety Officer’s knowledge of the State Government’s current Workplace Health and Safety Act, Regulation and other standards.

Assessment Criteria

• Describe changes made to the Workplace Health and Safety Act, Regulation and other standards;
• Explain the consequences of the changes made to the Workplace Health and Safety Act, Regulation and other standards; and
• Demonstrate and describe at lease one practical method for keeping the Workplace Health and Safety Act, Regulation and other standards up-to-date, relevant and useful.

Assessment Method

The module will be assessed by completion of 1 1/4 hour exam consisting of short answer and multiple choice questions. Students must obtain 75% correct to achieve a pass.

Conditions of Assessment

The Workplace Health and Safety Officer will be provided with:

1. A current copy of the Health and Safety legislation
2. Course notes
