The BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety is the current qualification which is intended for people who wish to gain formal qualifications in Work Health & Safety.  This qualification was released in 2012 and is recognised as standard safety officer training.  The qualification is suitable for people working in work health & safety including safety officers, safety coordinators, safety advisors and human resource practitioners.

The course is offered online which provides flexibility and freedom to study when you like, where you like and at your own pace.  Upon enrolment you will be provided access to our on-line learning platform which is available anywhere through a computer and internet connection.

The duration of the certificate is 24 months from the date of enrolment.  To complete the program in 24 months you will need to dedicate approximately 4 hours per week to your studies.  You can accelerate your learning and finish prior to the 24 months by increasing your weekly study hours.  The total hours required by a learner to successfully meet the standards within the qualification is approximately 400 hours.

The Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (BSB41415) is comprised of 10 units – 5 core units plus 5 elective units. This workplace health and safety course is now the minimum requirement for WHS safety officer duties and management in many workplaces and the course units are designed to enable participants to contribute to an organisation’s WHS management systems with confidence.

Prerequisites – Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety

There are no formal prerequisites for the Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, however it is recommended that you have completed the Certificate III in Work Health and Safety or you have current work experience in a health and safety role. The course requires you to have sound language and literacy and basic word processing skills.

The Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety is delivered via an online platform which is simple to navigate, and is fully integrated allowing you to track your progression through units, submit assessment tasks and receive feedback from your trainer.  At all times during your enrolment, our high experienced trainers are available on the telephone or email to offer support and to clarify any queries.  The course requires you to complete some workplace-based assessments as well as quizzes and questionnaires on line.
